Competition Terms and Conditions

  1. The promoter of this competition is R&A Golf and Leisure Limited, a company incorporated in Scotland under company number SC366854 and having its registered office at Beach House, Golf Place, St Andrews, Fife KY16 9JA (“The R&A“).
  2. This competition is open to all residents of the United Kingdom and Ireland, except employees of The R&A, their families, agents or any third party directly associated with administration of the competition. Entrants under the age of 18 must get consent from their parent(s) or guardian(s) before entering. The parent(s) or guardian(s) of entrants under the age of 18 agree to these terms and conditions on behalf of the entrant.
  3. By completing the registration form on the Golf It! website, you will be automatically entered into the competition. The registration form must be completed online to qualify by 23:59 (BST) on Friday 12 July 2024 to qualify for entry into the competition (a “Qualifying Entry“).
  4. There is a limit of one entry to the competition per person.
  5. Once you have made a Qualifying Entry, you will be able to start playing for your team by booking a tee time on the golf course online at  (the “Closing Date“).
  6. The R&A accepts no responsibility for any entries which are not completed for any reason, including technical interruption, fault or site failure.
  7. The top ten teams (3-4 players) on the Closing Date will be invited to attend Golf It! on Saturday 20 July 2024 to compete for the following prize in a final shootout:
  • 1x 4 ball at Royal Troon Golf Club on the day after The Open

Accommodation, travel, food and beverage and other incidental costs are not included in the prize.

  1. You will be notified by email (using the details provided when the Qualifying Entry was made) if you are in one of the top ten teams and invited to participate in the final shootout element of the competition. If we do not receive any response from any team member within 72 hours, or if your team are unable to attend Golf It! on Friday 12th July 2024, The R&A will be entitled to select the next best ranked team in accordance with the process described above.
  2. The prize for the winning team are non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.
  3. The decision of The R&A regarding any aspect of the competition is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
  4. By entering this competition, each entrant agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions. The R&A reserves the right to refuse entry, or refuse to award the prize if any team member is in breach of these terms and conditions.
  5. The R&A reserves the right to replace the prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond The R&A’s control makes it necessary to do so – e.g. in the event that The Open is delayed or extended for any reason.
  6. The R&A reserves the right to hold void, cancel, suspend, or amend the competition where it becomes necessary to do so. The R&A reserves the right to withdraw the prize if it has reason to believe that any winning team member has breached these terms and conditions.
  7. The R&A makes no representation or warranty regarding the quality of the competition prize and any conditions, warranties, or other terms implied by statute or common law are hereby excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.
  8. Insofar as is permitted by law, The R&A, its group companies, its agents or distributors, or any third party directly associated with administration of the competition, will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate any winning team member or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize, except where it is caused by a breach of statutory duty of The R&A, its group companies, its agents or distributors, or any third party directly associated with administration of the competition, or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.
  9. This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram or any other social media platform through which The R&A advertises the prize draw. All entrants shall release such social media platforms from all claims and liabilities arising in respect of this competition.
  10. The R&A will use the personal data that you provide to us when entering this competition to administer the competition including to contact you if we need to and to provide the prize. The legal basis for processing your personal data in this way is that it is necessary for the legitimate interests of The R&A to provide benefits to its customers, to build and strengthen its customer relationships, to promote its products and to comply with best practices for running competitions.   11. The R&A may make available the surnames and/or counties of the winning team to members of the public or regulators who request such details within three (3) months after the competition has closed.
  12. This competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by the laws of Scotland and any and all questions or disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
