Celebrating our 1st Birthday in Style

Written by Golf It!

We celebrate our 1st Birthday – so they’re running a full week of events and offers to celebrate with even coaching available for all and a brilliant FREE scavenger hunt for families this Saturday.

The complex just outside Glasgow, at Hogganfield Loch near Stepps, offers a relaxed atmosphere and low-cost activities for all, to encourage new people to try golf and make it affordable for everyone.

Golf It! is the home of Big Feed, Scotland’s kings of street food, who are also running a series of activities and events for the occasion.

Golf It! boss Russ Smith said: “We’re thrilled to celebrate a year at the heart of our community and bringing the love of golf to so many new people and families.

“We want to welcome everyone back, or to check us out for the first time if you’ve missed out so far, with some brilliant deals and free fun like the scavenger hunt.

“Thank you to everyone who has come down over the last 12 months and to the community groups who have become such a huge part of Golf It!

“And to all of our team of Trailblazers and supporters and everyone who has discovered their new love of golf with us – that’s what it’s all about.”

First up, there’s LOADS for the kids and families. After the runaway success of the Easter Egg hunt, we’ve teamed up with Seven Lochs again to stage a Scavenger Hunt around the nature walks on site.

The Hunt takes place on Saturday, with slots at 10am and 11am and pre-booking is essential.

Only children taking part need tickets, not accompanying adults, so head to our website now to book your kids in and of course you can join them on the Hunt.

Keep track of your score card which will be provided, hand in your completed card for free gifts and there are special prizes too, with two Nature Activity Packs from Seven Lochs, plus £50 of Golf It! Credit to spend on golf activities up for grabs.

There are 100 child tickets available for each of the two slots and again that’s all free of charge.

And why not dress up for the occasion – and possibly pick up a special prize?

Our Best Dressed Golfer contest adds to all the fun this weekend, so dress up as YOUR idea of a golf outfit or famous golfer, and snap a pic at our special pic area inside the Hub near the lift – look out for it, you won’t miss it.

Take the pic of you in your get-up there, post it on socials and tag us – whoever gets the most likes will win an UNLIMITED GOLF DAY for the whole family.

For anyone yet to discover the fun of golf, there’s a Try Golf promo running from Friday to Sunday – book in for Park Golf which is their take on pitch and putt, for the usual price of £5 per person and you get FREE coaching on sessions from 12-2pm all weekend.

This is a brilliant way to sample the game with no pressure in a relaxed and fun environment with friendly pro coaches who will make it easy to actually hit the ball and get to grips with the game – while having fun.

There is also FREE coaching available on the iconic driving range during the same times Friday to Sunday – coaches wilk roam the range offering help, tips and advice, or just ask if you want a chat.

The all-new Caddy Hour – think Happy Hour but for golf fun – launches on Saturday night with a DJ playing tunes and offering spot prizes, games and all sorts of night-time fun and laughs to make sure everyone really does have a ball. Sorry. That’s 6-10pm Saturday and Sunday nights with our host Harry from Krown Golf.

There’s also a longest putt challenge with BIG prizes to win, and entry open to all for just £1 a go – look out for the special set-up outside the visitor centre.

Plus play Go Fish Bingo on the driving range all weekend, fill in your details and drop your bingo card in for the chance to win £100 of vouchers, do the same thing on Adventure Golf for completed score cards (£100 vouchers prize).

Keep an eye on socials for very special prizes and promos dropping all week – think of them as our birthday presents to you.

Meanwhile in the Big Feed hub, the street food icons are staging a bunch of free activities to mark the big birthday celebration.

On Saturday and Sunday, Big Feed Bairns goes large with free birthdaycake for the first 100 arrivals (Sat), plus Disney Princesses, live swing band, family quiz, and the usual free movie fun for kids.

And of course there are loads of traders including a special Japanese street food pop-up, as well as the all-new Firedog Mexican pop-up and a frozen cocktail bar and beer truck.

Big Feed’s Jonny Stipanovsky said: “It’s been a great year with our partners Golf It! at this beautiful location with fun for all the family.

“We’re proud to bring the very best of street food to all and we want to really say thanks to everyone for their incredible support with a special programme of free fun activities all weekend.

“So come on down – and look out for El Perro Fuego… Firedog with bite!”

So with four days of special celebratory fun for all the family from Friday to Monday, get down to Golf It! this weekend to celebrate with our partners Big Feed and Padel and enjoy Scotland’s most exciting family sporting attraction.
